PART 1 of 3 ////////////// Sleeping under the stars is a bit overrated for me. Seems the bugs attack, the critters find you, the wind blows away your body heat, frost and condensation soak your bag, then the rain falls, and no matter what your gear gets filthy. A minimalist tent tarp, bivy, or floor-less tent are some ways to avoid to some of those hassles. But my favorite option is a quality designed and constructed lightweight backpacking tent like the ones profiled in this Nutnfancy series of videos. Here I cover most of the design aspects and experience-based opinions on just such a tent. POUs, Firepower vs Mobility, Impact, Livability concerns, Longevity, Ventialtion, Maintenance, Sleeve and Pole Construction, Fabric Choices, Convenience Features, and buying sources are all covered in the series. It would be unrealistic and probably of limited use for me to review certain models since most are so shortlived in the marketplace. Instead I use category representatives and teach the features, construction, sizing, and the many considerations to arm the buyer with the knowledge to make the best purchase choice. Always buy out-of-season whenever possible to save big money; it's very possible to get a ultra-quality BP tent this way for well under 0. Take care of it and it will serve you and your family forever too. Location was the scenic and beautiful Rocky Mountains with Allie the Mountain Dog in tow. This series was lots of work to put together, make happen, and ...

ATV’s are small motor vehicles with large tires used of transportation or racing across off-road terrain. All Terrain Vehicles are controlled with motorcycle hand controls. The ATV's are a fun and exciting way to experience the wilderness, and can be a useful means of transportation in rural settings. The ATV has gained huge popularity because of its versatility’s there are many different types of ATV's nowadays from companies such as Honda, Polaris, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha, and Arctic Cat.There is a variety of models and varying engine sizes for the different outdoor activities like racing, hunting and camping.
So you've just purchased your all terrain vehicle and now need some ATV accessories. Since ATV's have a reputation as being dangerous, thing to purchase will be protective equipment. Just like operating a motorcycle or bike, riding an ATV requires you use proper protective gear.So the very first thing should be to get a proper helmet and be sure to wear proper eye protection too. The next thing to think about is some protective clothing so be sure to wear boots and gloves to protect your hands and feet while operating the ATV - it's an absolute must for any rider.
Another great accessory for your ATV could be a saddlebag, which will allow you to carry all your cargo while you take your ATV on hunting trips or just to have some outdoor fun. Most off-road riders will eventually get stuck in the mud or need any help . For a serious ATV rider, a winch is a necessity. The winch cable can be fastened around a nearby tree, and it will pull the vehicle toward the tree.
Racing ATVs look very different from conventional ATVs that you may see in rural areas. They are usually customized with different wheels, shocks and exhaust systems. There are many lines of 4 wheeler tires to choose from, such as the ITP ATV tire, ATV sand tire, Gator ATV tire, Maxxis ATV tire, Goodyear ATV tire, and many others. Select the right tires for your predominant environment, as there are tires for mud, sand, racing and trails. The shocks need to give enough to absorb impact with minimal speed loss and also must be must be stiff enough. The exhaust is simply made up of a more free flowing muffler and intake to move air through the engine much quicker. This altered exhaust results in more noise , but it can raise the torque of your ATV. Bumpers and skid plates protect the ATV from damage due to rough terrain or racing.
When it comes to tires, the most important attribute is the tread. Different tires have different types of tread that make the ATV appropriate for navigating different types of terrain. For those spending time in the mud, it is strongly recommended that you purchase mud tires. Mud tires also work well on different types of terrain , but due to the tire tread, the ride is not so smooth. On the other hand narrow tires tend to sink in mud, but may provide you more stability on hard packed ground.

I have an interest in Archery and wanted to see prices and Various equipment. I want a bow and a target oh and arrows of course! I live in New York but could you list any stores or websites that offer these things at a reasonable price. I don't need a 5 star best brand bow here just something to practice with
and i don't want a hunting bow either i just want a 'regular' bow i guess like the kind they let you use at the YMCA or gym class/sumemr camp. maybe.
any other tips you could tell me about archery would be appreciated also. I tried out archery one day and im actually pretty ok and i think if i refine my skills i could be really good.
thanks

Buy gloves those are thick enough to protect and insulate from the cold and heat, but have good grip too.

When you turn in to sleep for the night make sure you wear a hat when sleeping in the cold. It is a highly effective way to get extra warmth as so much heat is lost through the head. You will be helping essential heat to not leave your body. Also, if you do feel yourself getting too warm then simply take it off – which is so much more convenient than taking off other layers of clothing or bedding.

Zip top bags are highly recommended as you can use them for both damp and wet items of clothing to isolate them away from your dry gear until you have a chance to dry them. It’s a great idea to carry your map in them to.

Bandanas are really useful too so include a couple in your kit. They can be used as a bandage, pot holder or even a water filter. They have many, many uses and are lightweight and take up virtually no room. You will not notice you are carrying them so if you don’t use them – it’s not a problem.

Take a newspaper on your trip – but not just for reading! These can be put inside your boots at night, when you settle down to camp. The newspaper will make your boots dry quicker by soaking up any moisture. If you don’t use them for your boots then they are also great as a firelighter.

Use individual colored bags to organize groups of items in your backpack. This will make these groups of items far easier to locate and will negate the need to empty your backpack in order to find something.

It is essential to carry some plastic bags – like the ones used for trash. These can be used for a multitude of things such as separating wet items of clothing from dry items, storing trash or covering over items form the rain.

Of course, don’t forget the essentials such as a swiss army knife, map and compass!

Family camping is a great way for family members to connect with each other and create fond memories that will be cherish forever. But it is not until you started your first camping trip that you truly realize the importance of having all the essential camping gear on hand. The essential camping gear that every camper needs can range from basic necessities to the very details that are often overlooked.

First of all, the main item that every camper need is a tent. You might also want to consider bringing along sleeping bags or mattresses for a more comfortable sleep at night. And along with the tent, make sure you have all the tools that you need to set up the tent properly, such as a hammer to nail the tent stakes into soil.

It is important to have a checklist of all the essential camping gears to ensure you do not miss out on any crucial things to bring. You can find such lists on the Internet and they can be downloaded and printed on paper for easier reference. The camping gear that you need will also depends on the type of trip you're planning to have. If you plan to go by a RV (which stands for Recreational Vehicle), then you'll have less item to take along since most of the basic necessities are already in the vehicle.

Another very crucial item that every camper need is a lantern or flashlight. Even though you can have a campfire for light, it is still advisable to always carry a lantern for additional lighting, and a flashlight in case of emergency. Other items that you should also bring are first aid kit, a hatchet, some easy to carry outdoor furniture such as folding chairs, kitchen items and even trash bags. Based on your personal preferences, that number of items you can take with you depends on the storage space and availability of resources.

There are some additional camping gears that are often overlooked when preparing for the camping trip and you only realize their importance when you need it. Take portable water filter for example, even though you are sure that there will be clean water resources in your camping area, there's no harm to filter your water and ensure that everything is safe for the benefits for you and your family's health.

Once you have your entire camping gear prepared, go out there and have a great time.
